Why I Joined KD
"Coming from Ann Arbor high schools there is a definite stigma that joining a sorority is like “buying friends”. I never thought I would join a sorority but when I found out that a new chapter was being started I wanted to blaze my own way. This came true in many ways. I have built the most amazing friendships, and a lot of confidence thanks to KD. You could never put a price on something that makes you proud and happy. AOT!"
A Place for Everyone
"Going into college I truly NEVER imagined myself in a sorority! I thought I was way too different from your typical sorority girl image to ever find a home in Greek life, but when I heard about Kappa Delta instituting a new chapter on campus, I knew I had to join! Not only did I get to be a trailblazer helping to create a new community at Michigan, but I was surrounded by other strong, determined, trailblazing women, too! Through KD, I have not lost the part of myself that I thought would never fit in in a sorority; I have only found a place in which that part (and all parts!) of me are welcomed and celebrated and discovered a home within a community of incredible women who call me on to be better and live more authentically every single day!"
A Community of Strong Women
"I was adamant against Greek life going into school, and I chose not to go through recruitment because I “wasn’t a sorority type”. However, after primary recruitment, I regretted not participating. The very next day, I saw KD tabling in Mason and the rest is history! Recruitment opened my eyes to the fact that a sorority woman is not a specific “type” of woman, it is any woman that wants to build a community of strong women in her life, which is exactly what being a Kappa Delta has done for me! My sisters never fail to inspire me and make me better, and more confident, every day, and for that I am grateful."
